My friend has a 1997 Land Cruiser. Are there any lift kits out there?

Yeah and it makes that truck ride and handle so much better, you won't believe it.

Go to Sleeoffroad.com for all your FZJ-80 needs.

MAF supposedly has a new lift kit together that offers more lift than the OME's, just something to consider if you want wilder rather than milder.

I believe Dobinson Suspensions in Oz also makes a kit for the 80 series.

we went to 4xdoctor and he said the OME is 2" or 2.5" (I forget). are there coil spring spacers like there are for jeeps? Would a body lift be a bad idea?

Yes there are coil spacers available. If you want all the answers about a lift for a 97 - follow Nolens advice and call Slee Off-road . They will be able to help you figure out what springs (OME base their spring stiffness on the anticipated load you will carry) and what spacer you will need. Also plan on doing the caster correction - makes the truck a little more road friendly.

Few people know more and are more willing to spend time with you talking about the 80 series. Christo knows his stuff and can walk you through anything from a basic OME standard setup to something a little more wilder like the new longer OME J coils and shocks and/or something more custom.
