I was going down a very steep incline last night and busted the upper balljoint mount right off the upper control arm. I've gone down this same hil probably a hundred times and never had a problem till last night. Well the wheel goes into the frame and take out the CV axle and boot as well. then I could only turn to the left to get the truck out I had to back it into the hill and take out the exhaust.
:mad3:
Alright, end rant. (Had to vent)

Got the ball joint out and removed the upper control arm to try to get those pins out. Yeah, that didn't work so well, just going to get a new control arm. Then I noticed that the control arm took out the shock as well.
What's the fun of having it if you can't play with it though right? LOL

Same thing happened to mine because I hit the incline of a dune too fast and the rivets that hold the ball joint on sheared off. My shock got dented and a chunk of my rim got broken out of it as well as a torn brake line. I've got a H.P.60 and a 14bolt in my garage waiting to get put under mine. Also selling an 8" IFS lift ha ha.

I've already got three of them but ok! I don't have any pics right now, I might be able to get some tomorrow.
I have been thinking of putting a solid axle under it but that is one helluva lot a work. And my welder isn't here yet. Hopefully this week. I need to find some shocks that will work with the 6" lift fairly well. What do you guys run, I haven't had this one very long and haven't had much time to research what works well with these.
I have a 9.5 14 bolt in the rear, I like it because it just bolts right in, no fabrication needed, and I have a spare in the garage, but I am planning on putting 5:13 gears in that one and trying to find some 5:13 gears for the front, I don't even know exactly what to look for in the front. I just know it's an IFS front, I've just been swapping them every time I snap one. I'm used to solid axle vehicles, never really done much with these things.

I've got a lot of extra parts laying around, I have cv axles, center sections, boots, etc. It's nice to have buddies that work in salvage yards!
