roktoy98 02-28-2005, 12:32 PM Would anybody be intereted in a CROC series at the Columbus Site?

YJ4RoX 02-28-2005, 07:59 PM Im in depending on classes. Maybe spotting maybe driving. Either mine or jessy's jeep. keep us posted please. Are you looking at running WeRoc rules/rig requirements?
cvwindows 02-28-2005, 09:27 PM sign me up. If I compete in a werock does that keep me out of sportsman. I have never competed before and am trying to get ready for april 8th.
thejeepjeepkid 03-01-2005, 06:59 AM It looks like we are going to miss our chance in W.E rock to compete there, which we would really like to do, so this would be sweet!
Big Rich 03-01-2005, 07:07 AM sign me up. If I compete in a werock does that keep me out of sportsman. I have never competed before and am trying to get ready for april 8th.
No it would not exculde you from running at the W.E.ROCk events. Yes the sportsman series would be an extension of the W.E.ROCK series, using the same rules and scoring. Just allowing for more events for the locals or those that wish not to run the entire eastern series.
We will be helping Mark set this up with anything support we can give.
Also look for more of these sportsman evenets around the country in the coming weeks.

BarrelRoll 03-01-2005, 08:20 AM I might be interested depending on dates and my cash flow. I'm planning on running the rockport series. What are entry fees looking at being. It will be about $300 in gas alone for me to get to and from one.
BarrelRoll 03-01-2005, 08:22 AM Oh yeah, what are the class requirments looking like?
flexj 03-01-2005, 09:33 AM I'd be interested. Neuroc has no comps july or aug. what would the entry fees be like?
roktoy98 03-01-2005, 11:18 AM Entry fees and dates will be announced soon.
Any body from PRO -novice can compete in the Sportsman series.
I'm looking at dates that will not conflict with any series on the east coast.
Any ideas would be great.
Any ideas would be great.
Add mud racing :flipoff2:
Seriously though, asset utilization. Not only add 4x4 NON-rock events, but non-4x4 events too.

roktoy98 03-01-2005, 11:33 AM We have not given it any thought yet. Who knows we might open it up for other things.
RedBullJeep 03-01-2005, 11:36 AM Hopefully, one date will be close to another East Coast "Pro" event so we can justify making the trip out and just staying the extra week to compete in this awesome site...
We have not given it any thought yet. Who knows we might open it up for other things.
The thought is, the overhead on the facility is pretty much a fixed number. So, the goal is to have as many income-producing days as possible. In the case of the new 4x4 park opening in our area, it's already a functional campground. I think that in the long run, that's going to be the real cash cow even though the REASON for buying the place was to open a 4x4 park. He also planned on mud racing & comp. crawling, but it was suggested that tractor pulls & tough truck events be added. The owner's not "into" those things, but if they can produce an income & not interfere with operation of the park, why the Hell not? He's got cliffs that would be tons of fun for rock climbing and/or rapelling, a River for fishing & floating, all sorts of non 4x4 activities that can lead to income.
In your case, I'm not sure where you fit into the picture, but obviously it's in all OUR best interest that the place remain open. And to do so, it must be profitable. Not a marketing genius here by any stretch, but obviously I have some ideas for ya  And when it comes to mud, well the current World Champion - the quickest 4x4 on Earth - is located just 85 miles from Columbus ;)

roktoy98 03-01-2005, 01:05 PM hopefully UROC can release a firm shedule soon.
That way i can schedule around it and maybe around a East coast Pro event to get you guys to run at "The Roc"
YJ4RoX 03-02-2005, 05:43 AM anticipating the dates here. then our decision would be to run jess's jeep in stock mod or my jeep in legends.
tubehead 03-02-2005, 07:32 AM I think it is a great idea to have more events up there. I decided to stop competeting last year because of the travel. I think a sportsman series would be fun to tinker with, plus it's pretty close. Do it.
wiringnatzi 03-02-2005, 04:29 PM there is always room for more comps. DATES! Let's get some use out of this facility.
