This book was mentioned in a couple threads and I know guys were ordering it from amazon with a multi week wait.

Check out SAE's website at:

http://www.sae.org/servlets/productDetail?PROD_TYP=BOOK&PROD_CD=R-146

They claim to have the book in stock for $89 ($71 if you're an SAE member). Damn, I shouldn't have let my membership expire.

SAE's bookstore also has a slough of other suspension related books as well as other "junk".

I used to goto school in Charlotte, NC...kinda the capital of Winston Cup racing. Apparently, that book is what the race teams swear by...without it they wouldn't be going as fast as they do :P

Not a whole lot of info directly related to 4wheel drive and solid axle stuff but definately an awesome book if you want to learn about this sorta stuff.

Check out the Bosch Handbook. It has a break down of every part on any vehicle. As far as race car dynamincs goes, I am taking a class tought by Claude Renee. He is an ex Mclaren, Renout, and Puget F-1 engineer. So not only will I learn about race car dynamics, but we are also being taught MOTEC engine manegment programming. Fun stuff coinsidering the CSM FSAE team got about $500 knocked off his price.
