: setting the choke on 84 blazer

I have an 84 blazer. its all stock. i haven't modified anything to the engine. i was just wondering how to set the choke. cause i have no idea how

With the truck at room tmperature (approx 70 degrees f) loosen the screws holding the choke heater (side of carb), hold throttle slightly open, rotate heater counter-clockwise until the choke falls shut. if you live someplace cold, set it 1 marker past the middle point on the dial on the top edge of the choke housing. the choke should fall shut at the middle point of the adjustment. if not, just go a little farther until it does. also a good idea to check if the heater is any good. apply b+ to the side terminal, apply gnd to the inside metal surface, and see if it heats up and moves the spring element. You don't have your location listed so I am just going to give you the SoCal directions.

1) Remove air cleaner
2) Prop open choke
3) Zip-tie it so it stays there
4) Replace air cleaner
