Well I am looking around for a cnc plasma. I all ready have the plasma (hypertherm 900) now I just need the cnc. I have looked at several brands and they seem to be similar so now I need some real world experience. Here are the ones that I was looking at
http://www.cncrouter.com/
http://www.plasmacam.com
http://www.camcutcnc.com/gantrys.html

If there are more that you know of let me know so I can try and research them too. Thanks for all opinions

From looking around at people's suggestions, the two ends of the spectrum seem to be CNCCuttingTable at the top end and PlasmaCAM at the bottom end. Seems that the major disappointment with PlasmaCAM is the support for it -- practically non-existant.

Just make one ,,, I have made lots thrue the years and there is not a lot to them ,,, sence there is NO cutting force all you need to do is move a ganty around and hold =/- .01

If you need info on finding the parts/software feal free to call me ...

Share the prices please - these companies all like to be all secretive about their pricing for some reason unless you talk to one of their sales goons :p

Sounds like a perfect tech article for pirates. I would like to know more about how to build one as well.

Looks like a very nice unit.

I really want to find a cnc plasma table with a tube attachment.

That does look pretty sweet. The idea of Duffy doing a Pirates tech article on building your own sounds even sweeter! :bounce2: :bounce: :bounce2:

search a few months ago in this forum. there was a couple different topics about these. I have a plasmacam and it works very good. It does everything they said it would. BUT their customer service does suck.....bad. But I havent had many problems with mine and no serious ones. Others are practical cnc and torchmate. I would not recomend the torchmate. For that kind of money build your own. Thats pretty much what your doing with their kit anyway. When I get another one it will be the tracker one.

I was quoted 8300 for the Plasmacam unit. Didn't talk to any others.

One thing I picked up during research is that the plasmacam software has an edge over the others, that's the one thing I couldn't build myself. Anyone has any comments about the software over others. I not worried about the drafting side, rather the turning a drawing into metal part.

Same thing I heard. I am a CAD dummy, so the thought of being able to easily get other drawings in there while I get up to speed on CAD was a good selling point for the PlasmaCam.
