Mounting an NV4500 on an crossmember independent of the skidplate. I have two options to mount the tranny.

#1: Is it better to hard mount the tranny to the crossmember then use poly mounts to attach the crossmember to the inner frame rails?

Or....

#2: Is it better to use a poly mount to attach the tranny to the crossmember then hard mount the crossmember to the inner frame rails?

(My engine is mounted with poly mounts.)

Poly mount on the tranny/t-case to x member, AND poly mounts at the frame.

for once, sodapunk is right....lol

I used PolyPerformance DOM bushings at the outer ends and a poly auto-tranny mount in the middle. Running poly/bushings at all those points accounts for engine/torque movement AND for frame flex.

Solid mounting will create leverage on the mount bolts and you'll be forever chasing leakes and re-tightening things. Major suckage...

treerootCO did a sweet mount for his FJ40 project, see the Orion link on my home page. Also, find my post on 700R mounting in the Jeep forum (good excuse to learn searches...lol)
