OK this may have been asked before but i am asking it angain. I have a 78 cheve 350 in my new rig i am building. It is a strong engine and i want to efi it. Here my ? For the guys that have went with the efi would you leave it with the 4 barrel intake and adapt a efi using the stock intake from 78 and DIS or would you remove everything. :D

I had planed on removing everything and puting the complete set up from a 90 on it and just buying a wiring harness for a 90. I do realize you have to drill out 2 bolt holes in the intake.

Just want to what is best. :D

You can use a `86 intake. it that last year where its a correct bolt up before they changed the heads. or you can modify the one you have. its just the center bolt holes next to the egr cross over on each side.

I used to do this, and I had a large counter sink to ream the edge of the holes, then I used an old rocker arm ball under the head of the bolt so it tightened evenly. don't forget to use some thread sealer also.

I would just use an adapter on the intake that is already on the motor. It wil save you a lot of trouble and headache. My buddy had an older big block in his 91 and he had the old style manifold with a tbi adapter and it worked great.

you can buy an adaptor for a `87-`88 454 tbi. its a straight bolt up if want to go that route.
