I'm workin on my OBA, Napa has a nice 200 psi mountable guage w/ 16 ' of 1/8 line w/ 3/8 fittings $50, where can I get 1 cheaper?

I looked at a $7 guage and air brake line but by the time I got all the fitings it was about $50 too and not as nice.
and wheres a good source for hi heat/hi press line?

Northern Tool & Equipment at www.northern-online.com for the hose, local hardware store for the 1/8 line.

Why a pressure guage in the cab. I have one at the compressor and one at the tank. The only thing I use mine for is to set the automatic pressure switch to kick in and out where I want. I have a toggle switch in the cab to disable the switch so it is not kicking in and out while driving. No reason for me to see a guage in the cab because when I'm running the compressor I'm out of the rig working on something anyway, and if my pressure switch were to fail I have a 140psi pop off.

the local HD store doesnt have 1/8 airhose, they have that coiled shit but I dont really want to drag that thru the firewall.

why in cab? you need it w/ ARB and I want to know the system is working. I think the question is why not one in the cab? I dont want to open the hood or crawl underneath just to check. running an in cab is easy.

ahhhh, ARB, now I understand, mines just for wrenching and airing up tires.

For the 1/8 check with a parts store that deals in tractor-trailer parts. That line is used for the air brakes on some trailers.

I just used some cheap plastic hose I found @ Orchard Supply. I think it is for a refrgerator ice maker, 1/4". Been working fine for me. I don't have it near anthing really hot.

dont the lines get hot from the york? and that line handles 150 psi?

This line comes off a tank a couple feet from the conpressor. I guess it's cooled enough by then. I've had it on for over a year & no leaks yet.

I went to napa and had them make one with hydraulic hose. I think it was 12 or 14 bucks with the clamped on ends. Its 1/2" hose 3000 PSI. I think it will take the heat :D

Its got 1/2" NPT on one end with a swivel fitting and 3/8" on the other. Its about 2 1/2 feet long and goes from the york to the oil filter.

The swivel fitting was the most expensive piece at about 6 bucks.

They did it while I waited :) Here's a pic.

I used Kilby's flange head adapters to 1/2" NPT so I could build this funky deal.

I needed to get the output hose down under a bunch of other crap so thats why all the copper pipe. I think the copper pipe and fittings cost as much as the hose did:rolleyes:

For the line off of the comp. I used a/c hose from napa. It can handle the heat ( it works for a/c). I used high pressure fuel hose for the in cab gauge ( rated above 150psi) works fine so far.Built the hole system for under $. 100. In cab gauge is a gauge off of a air regulator you need the regulator anyway.
