I am almost Done!!!!!!!! I have been swapping in a sm420 to my 3spd transfer case and the only thing i have left to do is the drive lines. "Joey" has a post a couple of days ago for me concerning my drive lines.....MY front was too short and my rear was too long...The rear could not be used on the front because it would have to be all the way compressed to fit in...Thus....when the front axel articulated it would have to move rearward (i am useing a shackle reversal). So now what to do...well i am getting the front DL lengthened about 1 1/2" for the front....The rear fits in but it only will have about 3/4" compression......Now to the question...........Is it ok to have only 3/4" compression travel on the rear driveline? It seems to me that when the rear axl articulates it will move rearward which would extend the driveline...Any comments on this? Mike Smythe (the guy i baught the tranny adapter from) concurred with me that there does not need to be much compression travel in the rear drive line. I am open for any suggestions????
