I am currently looking into buying a 94 CR125. The kid is selling it for 1500 and it apears to be in good shape I heard it run and it sounds good. My question is what should I look for? Is this a decent bike? I am really trying to get involved in this sport cause I have always been interested in Dirt Bikes. Thanks in advance.

Have him start it up and let it run for 5-8 minutes and let it cool for about ten, then start it up again. If it doesnt start first kick do a compression test to determine whether the top end is about to go.

Here's some tips. Grab the rear wheel and check for bad wheel bearings, but most of all side to side action on the swing arm. Swing arm rebuilding can get very expensive, once they get loose, everything gets wasted! Bushings and bearings are expensive. Check the condition of the sprocket and chain, $50-100 for a new set. At least a couple hundred to rebuild the rear swing arm.
Check that the rear shock is'nt wasted, thats very expensive to rebuild or replace.
Check that the front forks don't have any oil on them, that means the seals are bad. Cheap fix if you do it yourself, but a pain in the ass.
Ride it and make sure it does'nt miss shift, tranny problems will be a nightmare.
Is there excessive oil around the pipe at the head? Could be a bad pipe or warped exhaust flange.
