: Location change April 8-10 WE ROCK Eastern
Big Rich 03-07-2005, 08:02 PM Due to the bad weather, and the lack of quality construction time on the Columbus site, the property owner has asked us to change locations with one of our other sites for this first event.
Troy Meyer from the Badlands, has agree to allow us to use his park for the first Eastern National W.E.ROCK event.
Dates will remain the same for the events, just the locations will be swapped.
Thanks
Rich Klein

The owner of the land and W.E.ROCK feel that this site should be built right and not rushed. This will be the best site for large events, bar none....
Sorry for the delay, but the weather is gett'n us again :(

upnover 03-07-2005, 09:03 PM sounded like a pretty big task to get done in that amount of time.i would rather see a date change.
RedBullJeep 03-07-2005, 09:04 PM We're happy...maybe now we can make the Columbus event...We'll have to check the sched. but MAYBE it'll work out after all...
Still a bummer that we can't make the BadLands...I've always wanted to wheel at Troy's place too...

Me too. Gonna try to hook up with another team and each haul one way.
DOUG38S 03-07-2005, 09:43 PM All good things come to those who wait. I'm glad to see the change in venue due to thinking of whats best for the sport. Class act.
I'm glad to get another chance at Troy's place. It kicked our butt last year. :D
See everyone in a couple of weeks.
roktoy98 03-07-2005, 10:13 PM The dates have been swaped to look for everybody best interest.

MO_4RUNNER 03-08-2005, 01:41 PM Did the Missouri event get cancelled???
Bushwhacker 03-08-2005, 01:51 PM MOROC and Rockport Offroad park are listed on the website, are there comps at those sites this year?
Big Rich 03-08-2005, 02:35 PM We will not be using the Missouri location this year.
We are helping those organizations listed on our website with anything they need, to put on quality Rock Crawling events. We have been doing this for 4 full years, we have learned some lessons that we are trying to help others avoid. I guess you could consider it kind of a sanctioning thing. There may be others added to the list shortly.
Rich
MO_4RUNNER 03-08-2005, 02:49 PM Ok, i just noticed the heading was gone and thought i would ask.
GPERX4 03-08-2005, 05:38 PM That just sucks, make sure your date aren't the same as the Gravelrama.
alwayssmiling67 03-08-2005, 09:18 PM We (Rockport Off-Road Park-RROCK), had a chance to meet with Big and Lil Rich, and were very impressed with the professionalism displayed by both. We perceived both as sincere, good hearted people with the best interest of the sport as number 1 priority. As we continue with our man-made rock course additions, we look forward to input from both of them.
It is no surprise that the "pioneer" of off-roading destinations in the midwest if not the country (Badlands Off-Road Park) continues to amaze even the hardest-core "westeners", great job Troy and Lisa.
We look forward to working with all.
We will not be using the Missouri location this year.
Bummer, was hoping to get to see one rock comp this year. Will have to do more mud instead :D
TEX
Tex, You can still see Rockcrawling comps close to home. MoROC is still planning atleast one rock crawling competition, one woods race and a couple trail runs. Although it is unfortunate that WEROCK won't be helping us put on world class events, they are still very willing to help us get started.
More info will be posted later as MoROC event sites get finalized. For rules and dates of events, visit our website at www.moroc.us
Back to the Columbus/Attica discussion.
jeepobsessive 03-09-2005, 10:28 AM I'm glad to see you will still be using the new Columbus sight. I'm very excited about have a good man made course here in the East.
However, I was disappointed to see that Jellico now has two events and Missouri has none. To me being an East coast competitor I was looking forward to running some of the new venues that WEROCK originally advertised at the begging of the season. Running the same old locations (especially twice) doesn't really help us grow here on the east coast. I'd rather see the new Columbus course used twice if you need to double up.

Thanks, though I was probably more interested in shootin' the schit with out-of-town PBBer's than actually watching the comp ;) Still, may try to make one of your events since they're pretty local to me.

Bushwhacker 03-09-2005, 10:50 AM Tex, you can come up to Rockport and watch the 3 comps and the shop challenge. :D
drtywhtboy 03-09-2005, 02:10 PM I agree with Jason Head. The new venue in Columbus will give us a much-needed break from running at Jellico so much. If it's going to be 15 or so obstacles, that would easily allow two competitions a season without repeating anything. What do you think, Rich?
roktoy98 03-09-2005, 03:24 PM with 15 obstacles and a Gunite machine on site things can be changed in 3 days! No matter how many evenst we have nothing wil be the same.

I agree also , We have run Jellico 10 times in 3 years ..
unimog12chicks 03-10-2005, 05:48 AM I also agree, as much as i like jellico how manny times can you run the same obsticals and still get people to come out and watch. Jellico is being way over used in my oppinion. There is alot of good rock crawling in the east why are we so stuck on jellico
lt1wrangler 03-10-2005, 06:00 AM Agree'd, I would rather run somewhere else. The multiple venues also played a part in me running We-rock this year and thats changed. I understand the weather problems at Columbus but its funny that if this was UROC, everyone would want to string Mark and Ranch up. Finalize these details and get them posted for sure.
I would rather compete in a series that focuses on fewer, well thought out events than stretch yourself thin and not follow thru.
jeepobsessive 03-10-2005, 12:17 PM Big Rich, just to reiterate all the competitors that I've talked to on the East coast that were planning to run your WEROCK events for 2005 would prefer to not use Jellico twice for this season. Please consider using the Columbus location a 2nd time, or maybe Paragon up in PA.
The great thing you were offering to us in the East with WEROCK was variety of locations (which we desperately need) and variety of promoters (with you having a good reputation for being competitors friendly). Originally your event locations were NH, MO, OH & TN, now 3 of your 4 events are the same old places we on the East coast have been running for the last 3 years (Jellico & Attica). Like Fish mentioned above, some of these guys have run Jellico in excess of 10 times in the last 3 years.
Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to be a dick. Just passing along the feelings of guys like me who were very excited about WEROCK coming east, who now are not so excited. I've been highlighting in my sponsorship proposals all the new locations that WEROCK was bringing East in 2005. Now I have to go back and revise all my sponsorship materials, plus go to the sponsors I've already got on board and tell them that the great pitch I had for new exposure via new venues w/WEROCK is gone & that I'll be running 75% of the same places they've already got exposure at with me from UROC & NEUROC. Again not bashing, just giving honest input.

Big Rich 03-10-2005, 02:20 PM I have not taken this BADLY, we expected to hear something like this. First off let me say that we will have new sites available shortly, but for now the other sites we looked at just would not work for what we are trying to do.
We decided on the Badlands to support Troy and what he has doen to help rockcrawling in the past.
We were planning on using the Missouri location, but we felt it would not be beneficial to our organisation to use this site in 2006 (sorry but all I can say about that subject).
As far a Jellico, Seeing that everyone was complaining that the other organization was not going to use the site, and the property owner asked us to do so, we thought that it would be acceptable to use this site more than once.. with no conflicts in dates with other organizations.
Ok now this next part was going to be announced later...
We have plans for using Columbus for our W.E. ROCK USA Grand National Finals in Oct.
That is why we did not plan to run 2 series events there.
Please be assured, you will run new lines at Jellico. It won't feel like the same place you've run in the past, at least when you look at the courses.
Hope this will explain why and how come. If you'd like to call me please feel free to do so, I have lots of minutes :D and will always make the time for teams, marketing partners, or spectators

So I guess Katemcy is out?
Big Rich 03-10-2005, 05:44 PM So I guess Katemcy is out?
Katemcy was out because of the dates and a conflict with the hunting permits.
We were looking at another location in Texas, but nothing we could or will find will come close to what Columbus has to offer.... as a location for the last and biggest event of the year :D
roktoy98 03-16-2005, 03:30 PM Nice article in Xtreme Offroad Magazine about us this month
