If you are going to the Hammers in July I would recommend staying in a local hotel with ac and a pool. And do night runs on the trails :smokin:

Moab ain't close to Johnson Valley as far as heat index is concerned. The rocks at the Hammers will cook you from the ground up. With no wind in the canyons its gonna get well over 120 degrees in those rocks. Regardless of dry heat or not, it not anywhere close to comfortable. And keeping engine temps down is a real bitch too. Night runs are the only way I would even think about running trails out there in the dead of summer. And even then you are dealing with 90+ degree nights. I hope you have a good 6.5 or larger generator and dual A/C units in your RV too cause the 4.0 with one A/C isn't gonna do squat. Ask me how I know! :mad3:

Just saying that you need to be prepared for what you are going to do. People die out there in that heat with out several gallons of water and plenty of supplies. On a good note though, you will get plenty of traction since the rocks are so hot that your tires melt to them. :flipoff2:
