I have talked to a fello YJ owner that put Full width axles under his rig. They came out of a 77-79 Ford F250. I know the reason for the the Front end is the disk brakes, and the location of the perches. Does anyone know if a earlier model D60 would work out. I been looking for the E-brake cables when out serching. I found 1 but the houseing looks deffernt. I haven't measured the width yet. Am I crazy for even wanting to run full width axles? Please give me advice from people that have done it.:p

I went with full width axles and put Hummer wheels on to keep from getting to wode but so far I love it. Headed out for a test run soon!!!

I don't think you will get many arguements against full width on this BB. It just depends on the trails you run & your personal preference.

My search returned a TON of threads with full width info. I didnt go back through them all, but the titles on these seemed to stand out to me :rolleyes:

Sack up and go full width. If you cant handle it, later on cut your axles down. They will already be geared and locked (if you know what that means).

Ummm, How do think our rigs got to how they look? From us sitting in front a computer all day? Go away Newbie...if you dont like it here go find a new board. I was HAMMERED on as a newbie, and I took it like a good little newbie bitch should :D Most of us became "Old Guys" on this board because we paid our dues. I dont think I am better than anyone here, and I certainly dont have HALF the knowledge some of these guys do, but I got more sense than to ask about full widths on a board that practically every other thread is about full widths. I haven't opened that thread since it first appeared. It started out so well. How such a nice thread turn bad? Where did I go wrong? Am I a bad moderator? Maybe I should have taken it wheeling more... maybe if I had paid more attention to it when it had only 2 or 3 replies, this wouldn't have happened. :rolleyes:

1. ZuperDave - you should have used the search feature first. This has been hashed, and re-hashed. Almost to the point where it's should be considered kindergarten wheeling tech.

2. It is NOT people like Keith Strong who give this website a bad name. Keith, and others, are tired of people coming in here expecting everyone to happily give them all the answers. There are many many many answers out there already. Find what is available, then ask questions. If there were no threads about full width axles in the past 2 months, this would have been a perfectly acceptable question.

3. Loppy and Keith - nice rigs.

4. Jeepmodman - Being a 'newbie' has just slightly more than nothing to do your post count. It's all about respect. You come into this house expecting respect. Show you deserve it. Amaze us with technical info. Dazzle us fabrication skills. Don't try to baffle us with bullshiznit. Everyone here, and I do mean EVERYONE, went through the ritualistic hazing. Part of being on the team. The weak don't survive. The strong do. Guess who we want here?
