YJ4LIFE 03-09-2005, 03:36 PM #1, best buy extended warranties rule all. I got 3-4 radios off one.
#2 water is probably coming through the vents so clean out the drain tube in the cowel vent opening.
#3, maybe put something over the top of your radio. Somone suggested cutting up a plastic anitfreeze bottle or something.
RCKRATZ 03-09-2005, 03:50 PM I used electrical tape and a ziplock baggy on mine and it has been working for a good while now
it needs airflow to stay cool, so stay away from the baggie/tape combo. try finding a piece of tupperware that it fits into and modify it so you can get to the controls and it fits in your dash, then use some tape or whatever method you want to secure it inside of the tupperware.
and dude...CAPS SUCK

jrocker 03-10-2005, 11:42 AM best buy also sales a marine cd players. there like 150-300$ .
TheTonka 03-10-2005, 11:52 AM If I was doing it I would make a piece of aluminum or plastic to would mount above the radio and protect it from drips on all sides.
Outside of that the steel center consoles are pretty water tight, or you could put it in an ammo box. The marine covers most people look at are only faceplate covers, but they work real well.
I have been working on a metal box to put a radio in that would mount in most stock locations, but got busy with buying a condo and rebuilding the tonka.
If you need a marine cover let me know, I'll see what kind of deal I can make you :D .
Oh Yeah and avoid the plastic baggy thing it can just as easily destroy your radio.
If I was doing it I would make a piece of aluminum or plastic to would mount above the radio and protect it from drips on all sides.
