I just completed my 350 and TH350 conversion using A/A adapters. It looks as if my rear drive shaft is going to be about 12 3/4 inches long.
I plan to have one made at a local drive line shop today. Is there any info I should pass along to the shop??
It sure looks short. Since I only have about 20 minutes today to research this problem, I dont have much time to hit the "search" button. LOL Any verbal info that anyone has would really be appreciated.
Thanks :D

Have you already swapped your rear springs around?? You can get another couple inches of wheel base out of it. That may help.

Make sure it doesn't bind. My rear bound up pretty well, and it's longer than that. I had to rotate my rear axle up and use a CV.

Why is it so short? I have the same thing in my rig with the springs in the stock location, and my rear D/L is 17"!
Heck I'm even useing a long nosed water-pump and have 4" of clearance for my flex fan!
Somthing is not rite!

12 is quite short for a c/c shaft if you have to go that route - in most soa's you do- the last c/v we did on this type of rig toy cruzer t-case set up- was 19 flange to flange and we used a bit longer slip out of a mini truck to gain slip needed - if you run a non - c/v then you can go quite short- Good luck-Jesse:D

Thanks Guys! For your help it is not 12 inches it is 16 inches.I had a friend measure it for me while I was out of town, she did not measure from flange to flange . It is my mistake ! not hers I told her the wrong way on how to take the measurements. By the way that friend is best friend my wife and fj-40 partner. THANKS!for your help!!
I just checked the shaft I took out of my old TH400 and Chevy350 setup and it is about 16 inches. I ran it that way for 10+ years wihtout a single problem. It was more or less a home done job that the kid that I bought it from did. One thing though, it has a super long splined section, about 6 inches long. I ran it with no lift, with add-a-leaves, and with 4" lift and had up to 35's and wheeled the piss out of it and again it had no problems.
