need a switch for my rig and i'm running a painless chevy harness and it says i need a chevy switch. well i got one and i don't like the way it looks so i looked in my cole hersee book and it gives specs such as ohms rheostat dimmer and internal circuit breaker in amps. how do i find out what i have. thanks

if you got the specs for the switch that you need you can use your multi meter to ohm out (test the resistance) and test the amps on various poles on the switch if they match up closely then use it. Not sure if thats what youre askin but...
