: !970 Dodge military front dana 60 west747 03-14-2005, 04:22 PM what are your thoughts on a dodge miltary front dana 60? are they just as good as chevy or ford dana 60's? i am still unsure whether it is a high pinion or low pinion axle or the spline count but i should know later tonight...i am just looking for some opinions or thoughts on this axle...the price is right at 200 bucks canadian...thanks FordCarnage 03-14-2005, 04:41 PM Coarse spline, brittle shafts, closed knuckle, nothing available aftermarket, low pinion. Not necessarily a weak axle but you will have to weld it if you want posi, unless it has a Powerlok which suck. west747 03-14-2005, 04:59 PM darn...so they maybe i should hold out for a chevy 60....are all dodge axles coarse spline or just the military ones? and are they all closed c's? GRMhick 03-14-2005, 08:09 PM Late 70's miliarty dodges used a unit bearing dana 44. The 60's are very rare, unless its a navy or coast guard crew cab truck.
