what are your thoughts on a dodge miltary front dana 60? are they just as good as chevy or ford dana 60's? i am still unsure whether it is a high pinion or low pinion axle or the spline count but i should know later tonight...i am just looking for some opinions or thoughts on this axle...the price is right at 200 bucks canadian...thanks

Coarse spline, brittle shafts, closed knuckle, nothing available aftermarket, low pinion. Not necessarily a weak axle but you will have to weld it if you want posi, unless it has a Powerlok which suck.

all i know for now is that it is out of a 1970'ish dodge military 3/4 ton...i will know more when i get some pics...hopefully it wont have closed c's and coarse axles..lol...anything else that would indicate what might be in the axle as far as the " goodies" go??

Late 70's miliarty dodges used a unit bearing dana 44. The 60's are very rare, unless its a navy or coast guard crew cab truck.

the "good" dana 60 was not even introduced until '75. so unless someone did the old swap-a-roo, you got a giant boat anchor.
