: Hone Overdrive service manual, I got it!
Landpimp 03-14-2005, 04:47 PM I finaly found at somewhat of a greater expense than I wished the Hone overdrive service manual for a Cruiser
I know in the past some folks have been looking for info on these OD units and AFAIK no one has been able to find the manual.
So if there is interest I can scan and or copy it, if no interest I will just stick it on the shelf.

the Hone is for a fj40 and prolly a fj55. This manual is cruiser specific. 1971 era
Why not scan and post in the tech section of Ih8mud? Several old manuals there.

PVCruiser 03-15-2005, 11:23 AM Was the Berne Hone a desireable overdrive? My dad installed one on our FJ-40 back in '75. It destroyed the T-case in '99. Never quite sure what to make of it. It made the angle on the drive shaft extreme. Someone educate me, please...

so if the unit is a turd, does that make your manual used toilet paper? I agree, having seen one in person, I think they are quite possibly the worst designed overdrives ever conceived. It must add a foot or more leveraged gearbox to the (5) 8mm bolts that hold the speedo drive housing on. No good.
