On a 404 steering axle there is a bronze bushing and a seal at the end of the axle before exiting the tube. The part number off the seal is 48-68-10. I thought I had picked up one locally before but now nobody can cross reference the number. Is this a standard seal that parts houses carry? I've only tried Napa and such. Napa is just more convenient for me. singham 03-19-2005, 09:12 PM The 404 axle output seal is a Kaco double lip seal. Any bearing house seal will do the job, but don't expect a single lip bearing house seal to seal as well or last as long as a double lip seal. The double lip MBZ seal is available from most Mog parts vendors in the $13-$15 range. Cheers, Scott | |
