Alright, I've searched quite a bit and can't seem to find it. On a 404 steering axle there is a bronze bushing and a seal at the end of the axle before exiting the tube. The part number off the seal is 48-68-10. I thought I had picked up one locally before but now nobody can cross reference the number. Is this a standard seal that parts houses carry? I've only tried Napa and such. Thanks

ok, are you saying it's not also the part number? I've had other people tell me that was the part number and it was also on the seal itself. Wether it is the size or not, can it be referenced by those numbers?

Cool, Napa can get them too with that part number. Napa is just more convenient for me.

The 404 axle output seal is a Kaco double lip seal. Any bearing house seal will do the job, but don't expect a single lip bearing house seal to seal as well or last as long as a double lip seal. The double lip MBZ seal is available from most Mog parts vendors in the $13-$15 range.

Cheers,

Scott
