Looks like we got lucky this time, Rich ...
Wife, Jacque and I are here in Moab despite the case of phenomia I caught at the Big Chill in Globe and subsiquent trouble with 'Debbie" since then with a bad TPS and then just today a bad CPS in her brand new crate 4.3L. ... she must have got the bug too ... :shaking:
*Can't be certain what the Gods are trying to say to me ... except "You are too old and should stay home."*
The radars say bad weather all around but we're in a metorilogical nook with partly cloudy skys and relative balmyness ... IT'S GONNA BE NICE !!!
Highs in the mid 60s and much calmer than predicted ... and it's supposed to get better! :cool2:
Moab ... dig it!

I got phemonia from Globe also, at least thats what the quack shack at Texas Tech Medical Center said. Despite all of the last minute crap going on with my buggy, I still left on time, only to have the motor in my tow rig blow up in Santa Rosa, NM. Maybe I will be able to make it next year.

There might be a few more cases of pneumonia after Sunday's cold and soggy conclusion, Bryan. Sorry you couldn't make it to the starting gate. :(
I hope everyone else is OK after this weekend too. I've never had it before and was only diagnosed with a "mild" case but it sure knocks you down and was told, can be fatal ... especially for cigarette smoking AARP card holders like me. :shaking: I've promised (first time) to quit the foul habit ...
Thanks to the wonderfully helpful folks and Moab's Chevy dealership who diagnosed 'Debbie's' last minute Crank Position Sensor (CPS) failure late Friday afternoon. Their crew swiped a working CPS from a '96 Astro Van on their used car lot I was luckily able to start on Saturday. They told me to say they'd be glad to lend a helping hand to any other out-of-towners. I just love Moab!
And thanks to my spotter, Pirate's board volunteer and veteran competitor Cal Simmons, we were hot on Jody and Jack's tail ... literally, as we were next in line behind them and maintained a slim point margin's striking distance of overtaking them and Dan's team the whole day Saturday. We were making them really nervous, really! Ease up on those poor judges will ya, Jody? :flipoff2: It doesn't make you look good ...
Before leaving home I was forced to promise my doctor and my wife that if the weather turned fowl I would not go out and catch my death with a relapse of the pneumonia.
Waking up to a drizzling rain at midnight I knew I was finished, especially after a quick visit to the Weather Channel ... continuous rain and cold from Denver to LA. Sadly we packed up and drove home to Farmington Sunday morning, leaving the braver ... and healthier ... souls to battle the muddy rocks in rain, sleet and snow.
‘Debbie’, my new TJ is showing great promise of being all I hoped she would be, despite the recent engine electronics glitches and I predict that with a little better help from her men folk (crew) she’ll prove to be a winner ... or at least good enough to make ole' Jody really nervous!
W.E.ROCK is proving to be a big winner and want to thank the Riches, their crew, and volunteers for providing what is proving to be the best and most fun rock crawling venue out there. I’m grateful at this point I could participate at Moab … even for just one day.
Yeah they were running on top of each other...course is very tight here. Good carnage pics if I can just host the sumbiches..
Dustin you get any sleep yet..
she was great!!!

I had so much fun I didn't want to leave! I even changed my flight to leave a day later to go run Pritchett and Hell's Revenge yesterday. I just got home and I've only had 3 hours of sleep....Driving to Salt Lake at 2am is not adviseable!
Comp was great! Weather started off shaky but finished BEAUTIFULLY! I can't tell you how cool it was to be standing out on a course and have it start snowing and turning everything white. Absolutely gorgeous!
I want to thank all of the staff and competitors for a GREAT event! Thanks to Jeremy from BFE for letting us have this on his awesome property :D It was great to see you again!
