I am looking into a lift for my '84 4.9L bronco. I have found a Rugged Trail 4" suspension lift for $400, never used. I have never heard of Rugged Trail and was wonderin what you guys thought of the brand and quality?
Thanks in advance!

never heard of 'em. but i will tell you that i bought a cheap lift ($430) and with in a month it had sagged from 4" to about 2" in the front and 3" in the back. also the ride is super rough.
i learned the hard way that you get what you pay for. :shaking:

With a TTB suspension, stick with the Class II Skyjacker kits. Anything else seems to bend brackets and/or crack the frame.
Yes, you do get what you pay for.

Rugged Trail?
That's one old lift kit.
They had good shocks, a little stiff, but decent quality, I'm still running two of them on my MJ.
I have no idea how their springs were, but they were definately made before the whole 'soft ride' trend kicked in. I'd guess they're pretty stiff.
FWIW, Rugged Trail was bought out by Warn 8-10 years ago when they wanted to start their Black Diamond Suspension Division, that they shut down, then finally sold off to someone else.
The guy's had that that lift for a long time, I'd hit him with a low offer :smokin:

jpnjim, you're the first one who has known anything about Rugged Trail that I've asked on 3 forums. Thank you that's all I needed to know! :)
