: new style BFG Mudders
Dychen 02-20-2002, 12:46 AM Hey, just got a set of 32 bfg mudder blems, there the new style (cant remember the name for them). Anyhow, took them out a little test out at the coasters here in placerville (the little mud pit area off industrial, by enterprise rd). They did great, at the top of the steepest coaster I started to bog out in 4L 3rd, downshifted and spun them, I figured for sure I was screwed, but sure as hell they grabbed traction and pulled me over the top. Crawled though a few good mudpits with them, also did alot better then i expected. Oh btw I was running 24 psi for all this. Not sure how they are going to do on the rocks, but as soon as I find out I'll post the findings.
Quick question. I got some cheesy driving lights, i'm running H3 55w bulbs, what amp fuse should i use?
TNToy 02-20-2002, 10:11 AM If you were using 24 PSI in mud, I'm not going to give your review much credit. 24 PSI is street pressure.
It's the BFG-MT/KM... BTW.
UZI 9mm 02-20-2002, 11:14 AM unless i'm mistaken, 24 psi is HIGH street pressure !
considering the stock tires spec is 20 psi....
for pavement, unloaded, i run my mt's @ 18 front and rear.
for any major hwy driving (which usually means loaded to the tits, as i'm packed up to go wheeling) i max pressure at 22 front and 26 rear.
if you have the lights going through a relay (which you should;) ) then i'd say 20 amp fuse should be fine.:)
dangerber 02-20-2002, 11:31 AM Right, that is unreal pressure for wheeling, but it has been my experience that airing down only makes things better! So, if they really did that well at 24psi, they would probably be better than a swamper at trail pressure. So, that brings me to my final conclusion, they could not have been THAT good at 24psi, because no BFG in the world is as good as a swamper off-road! :flipoff2:
(...stirring the pot...:D)
ROCKILLER 02-20-2002, 12:36 PM come aawwn, a BFG tearin it up in the mud? I haven't run a new "KM" but they aren't really any different than the old BFG muds. Dont get me wrong, for an all around tire they are pretty nice but as for real mud or hardcore rocks..........
Dychen 02-20-2002, 09:00 PM In reguard to the mud thing, its the typical clay junk we have around here. i'm not trying to sell these things, personally if i would have had more clearence i would have gone with 33 Xterains but if you can get the blems, there a damn good tire for the money.

Watt's law, dude: P=I x E......where P is power, or wattage, I is current, and E is voltage applied. we can re-arange this equation to I=P/E, or 110W/13V=8.46Amps.....therefore, a 15A fuse would be perfect...just make sure you use a relay....this is all i do in school all day, this is the only thing in real life that damn formula works for.....:D :D :D :D

tZUKnami 02-21-2002, 04:26 PM If you think that is the only thing the formaula works for in real life, you are either a student or you install off road lights for a living...:flipoff2:
Rockrat 02-21-2002, 05:06 PM Well if it wasnt for that fomula we would not no what fuse to use so it would be p=no lights x I=driving at night E= hitting be Fawkin tree ya I think thats it can anyone conqer:smokin: :smokin:
