My bro and I have been .DOM tubing shopping all ovcer the place. We have pretty much come to the conclusion that we have to go to Atlanta, or order it from the local dirt track shop who dosent actually sell it per say, they just can get it on 'special order' (read: fuck us).

Anyway, what is a going price per foot for the following (at least this way well be able to know how bad we're getting screwed...)

1.75 x .120...

1.25x ? (for draglinks with 1 ton chevy rod ends)....

Around here I can get 1.75 x .120wall DOM for $2.00/ft if I get more than 300'. Find several buddies and order a ton.

Several buddies is not really an option for me cause all my buddies are broke asses! Not to say that Im not the same:D

Everyone that I know that is into 4x4s is a college student.

The $3.00 a foot was a ROUGH estimate and Im not positive if he was planning on chargin any kind of middle man flat fee or adding on to the per foot price. Im gonna call next time I got some mula and ask how much a 24' stick of stuff for my draglinks would be...

I guess I should just quit being cheap and order some and find out...

But background prices would be nice...

ty ty try twmetals.com I buy it there all the time, its a very large tubing manufactor on the east coast . They have several plants near you I get 2" .120 wall d.o.m. for around 2.35 ft.:D

Anywhere around $3.00/ft is probably pretty good for 1.75x.120 or 2.00x.120....I pay $2.85 where I get mine.

Marmon Keystone here in SLC sells 1.75" .120 DOM for $1.82 a foot and $1.41 for HREW...call them and see if they will ship the stuff(and this wasn't bulk, only 80 ft., and not on any type of an account)

Try Oneal Steel Too in Birmingham.......dont have the number here at home. Oneal Too is the retail side of Oneal Steel, which is a VERY large plant. They quoted me 1.24 a foot for 1.75x.120 erw and 1.48 per foot for 1.75x.120 DOM.

I just paid $1.97 a foot for the 1.75x.120, and 3.01 for 1.25x.219, which is what you need for those tierods you speak of;)

Unbelievable! In a city the size of Phoenix, there is only one supplier for DOM, and they rape every customer. IIRC, I had to pay over $6 a foot for 1.5 x 0.250 1028… :(

Hmm, Southwest only charge me about $3 a foot (1.5 x .250 DOM), I bought (1) 20 footer for my links. They are just off of I-17 and Deer Valley rRd.

Great, when I was looking I called all through the phone book and kept getting the story that "Tube Services is the only source for DOM in Phoenix." :rolleyes:

You might want to try dillon supply if you are going to travel to GA to get the steel . They are in Augusta, Macon, and Savannah GA according to their web site (www.dillonsupply.com). They are local to me and nice people to deal with. Got 100' of 1.75 x .095 DOM for $2.30/foot picked up. They must have 150,000 sq ft of warehouse here. Carry anything you can imagine.

Was already planing trip to Marman Keystone today. very glad to see there prices. didn't have a clue what I was in for. $3.01 for 1.25x.219, Is this what you would use to make radious rods, or link arms with. If so its a 3/4 ID right. How do you thread it deep enough to work good with Heim joints, Left and right thread. R there resonbly obtainable taps for this?

Sorry man - that tube size comes out to 0.812 ID not the 0.6875 (11/16th") you need to tap it for 3/4" 16tpi... You would need a wall of at least 0.2812" to get that inner diameter with the listed 1.25" OD tube... This tube you listed probably would not work with inserts either as most of them are 7/8" (0.875) OD where they fit into the tube (0.063 too large for what you listed) Keep looking or get a 7/8" bit to bore the tube out to fit some weld in inserts ;) HTH

Need 72' 4x18' that they sell it in.
1.5 x .120 2.75 per foot
1.75 x 120 3.10 per foot

Where do you get your quotes from? Or did they just start getting so much buisness from this thread that they boosted there prices

how much did u buy?? i got a little over 200' of 2" .120 wall DOM from my marmon keystone and it came to $2.50 a foot.. that $2.50 a foot including shipping costs to my door..

OK I called Marmon Keystone back told them I saw a quote from online for 1.75" x.120 DOM tubing for $1.82 per foot. and asked them why i was quoted $2.75 per foot of 1.5 x 120. I don't have an account there but me emploer does. Hard to go threw those chaneles though. But he did give me there price on it plus tax ofcoures. No delivery though I have to pick it up willcall. $1.75 per foot foot leangths.
