: Need to barrow a Super modified rig bad
roktoy98 03-21-2005, 04:15 PM Ok so it turns out my new Moon buggy will not be done by the April 8th WEROC event at Badlands. Any body have a extra rig they would be willing to let me use. I need to run 4 WEROC events so i can qualify for the Grand nationals. If i miss the first East Coast event i would need to drive out west and run a 4th event to Qualify. I'm also running UROC and NEUROC so i'm not sure i can squeeze in a West coast WEROC.
If somebody was nice enough to hook me up i would make your COLUMBUS trip first class! VIP treatment at "The Roc" :D
Obvious rules apply! I break it- I buy it :flipoff2: fix it! I just want to lock in my spot for the Grand Nationals and have some fun!
phishtaco 03-21-2005, 04:40 PM Umm...use the Krawlr
roktoy98 03-21-2005, 04:58 PM no way~!

roktoy98 03-22-2005, 11:33 AM Still need a rig! Doesn’t somebody have a pinto on 44’s or something!
drtywhtboy 03-22-2005, 09:51 PM get in touch with Darrell Motley. He may rent his rig out, as he will be pullin' on Rusty's rope that weekend.
wiringnatzi 03-23-2005, 12:38 PM I hope you find a rig because the running one event out west won't work...We just competed in the Moab We-Rock event thinking if we did well we could skip one of the East events and qualify.. Big Rich said it didn't work like that and the Moab event would just be practice and that we were signed up as East and we would have to run all the East to qualify for the finals...
You might want to contact and find out if those plans will work....
Good Luck

 What? I'm pretty sure I saw it somewhere that you could run any 4 events to qualify. You might want to dredge up some old posts.
Who is Wiringnatzi? Job? Kevin?

I hope Rich chimes in here, but I was also impression that if you competed in ANY 4 W.E.Rock events you were eligable for the finals whereas if you wanted to be in the running for the series you needed to be at every west or east event.
Jaffer 03-23-2005, 06:17 PM Rich confirmed to me this weekend that ANY four events, east or west ... it does not matter will qualify for the four need to participate in the Finals.
I think the confusion comes when you consider the East vs. West SERIES POINTS.
wiringnatzi 03-23-2005, 07:43 PM This is Job
Per Kevin and my conversation with Big Rich about this we asked him if we ran the Moab competition we could skip the New Hampshire since it was so far and we were already going to be in Moab for the Safari.. He said we could run it for practice but would not count for the series and would have to run the four East events (good thing they aren't having the one in New Hampshire and it looks as if we will make all four East events now).. Maybe he has changed his ideas or we misunderstood him..
We thought the same thing the way it was worded on We-Rock's website..
Who knows at this point, maybe he will chime in and clarify this...

You can't run the Moab event as a part of the East Series point standings. You CAN run it as part of the four events needed to go to the finals in Texas.
drtywhtboy 03-23-2005, 10:39 PM Guys, the East series has had a few changes to it in the last couple of weeks... First event is at Attica, Indiana. Next is Jellico, Tenn. Third will be in Columbus, Ohio at the new place. Fourth will be back in Jellico, and the big finals will be held back in Columbus, Ohio instead of Texas.
Go2Guy 03-24-2005, 06:29 AM We do need Rich's input on this. I'm confused too, first I heard of it not counting for the series. Due to UROC's antics, it's impossible for me (and others) to compete in all 4 East events (They stepped on WeRock's first event), so I picked up Globe, being told by Rich it would count. I'll be pretty disappointed if it only "partially counts".
lt1wrangler 03-24-2005, 06:58 AM I can see it counting for the standings for the finals, but not for East series standings if you don't run the four qualified. The competition is not the same, so how can a competitor be placed in our series standings if they didn't compete with that group of drivers?
Rock Cat 03-24-2005, 07:12 AM and the big finals will be held back in Columbus, Ohio instead of Texas.
Bummer! Can't go for sure now!

I've emailed Rich to see what his intent was/is and to get the confusion cleared up.
How can it be done? There are precedents, EROCC, ProRock and other venues have had formats where you count the best three out of four, four out of five etc. Fair and same opportunity for everyone. I believe Rich had honorable intentions and was trying to find a way to accomodate the teams after UROC pulled their stunt.
You trying to minimize competition Rusty??:)
All kidding aside, I'd welcome all promoters to allow dropping an event. Many teams are faced with work conflicts (Like an annual trade show where attendance is not negotiable) weddings, funerals, babies that are part of normal life and can conflict with race schedules. Add to that the fluid nature of dates and locations and I think most will agree it would be the right thing to do. Off my soap box now:)
ROKN ZJ 03-24-2005, 07:52 AM and the big finals will be held back in Columbus, Ohio instead of Texas.
WIll the West guys' finals be in Ohio as well, or are we not competing against each other at the end of the season???
Go2Guy 03-24-2005, 08:01 AM WIll the West guys' finals be in Ohio as well, or are we not competing against each other at the end of the season???
Pretty sure the answer is yes...
The finals were supposed to be in the "middle gorund" of TX but he couldn't make it happen there and announced they were going to be in OH instead, east and west.
Big Rich 03-24-2005, 08:19 AM ok guys here I'm here...
hope this eliminates the confusion.
You need to run ANY 4 events to qualify for the Grand Nationals
You need to run ALL 4 events in the same region to have them count for series points.
it is unfair to count a competition not against the same guys for series points. Ken sorry for the confusion, I thought we were on the same page. When the other guys posted their dates on top of ours, this is the result. We had our scheduled dates set in july of 04'. yes locations changed due to a number of factors, distance, quality of sites, completion of sites, landowner concerns, etc...
We want as many people to be able to compete as are able. The Grand Nationals WILL be big, Television WILL be there in force, so far we have 4 different TV shows asking for permission to shoot the Grands...

nilla 03-24-2005, 08:34 AM do the people running the trophy class get a chance to
get into the finals?
Big Rich 03-24-2005, 08:44 AM do the people running the trophy class get a chance to

At first we were not going to have the trophy competitors compete in the grands. The trophy division was intended for the guys that were local to the events. we did not expect for trophy guys to travel. We have reconsidered it though. It is becoming like a sportsman sereis for some. but the same rules will apply, trophy division teams will only be awarded a trophy, at any comp they compete at, no matter how good they do.
Rich
Big Rich 03-24-2005, 08:53 AM Please try and remember that what we are donig this year with W.E. ROCK is a new concept and has been tried in our sport yet. We tried to consider all aspects of the sport and consulted many teams before un-rolling this years plan. We will fine tune as we go along, to make this work for as many teams as we can.
Our 2006 schedule will be ready by July as well as preliminary rules for 2006.
We are going to make some changes from 2005, but they won't effect teams who have already developed rigs. Unless you are planning on building a new one for 2006. The changes will effect only the Legends class, and I think ev eryone will find them satisfactory and a good way to increase the numbers in that class.
Rich
Sorry for high jacking the tread...

So are trophy competitors allowed in the National Championship event or not? If so how many events do you have to run as trophy? Any 4 of the 8 I would assume?

God that sucks for me, I was looking foward to having a pro event close to home :(
Lil' Rich 03-24-2005, 10:57 AM A few things to keep in mind. We had three seperate event sites in Texas, none of them have worked as of yet.
The trophy guys wishing to compete at the Grand National Championship Event must run atleast 4 events in the Trophy Division and may not bump up to the Purse/Series Contender Division for the GNC 2005. Trophy Division teams also may not qualify for the World Championship in Mexico.

It's not about the drive or really the city inwhich the event will be held, or which side of the country it is held on...
It's about the best damn rock crawling venue in the WORLD
Once a year, someone has to drive. Next year it's on the west side. The Purse ptromises to be BIG, so get over it all ready :flipoff2: :D

I've got one you can borrow, but you'd have to come down to Texas to pick it up and bring it back. It's an old cambell buggy, so it's not the newest bestets thing out there, but I think it should work... Just an option.
roktoy98 04-04-2005, 03:51 PM Holy chit! bring it up to badlands for me!
wish it was closer i would take you up on it.
