Has anyone ever changed the front seal by the rag joint on a chevy steering box?? Can I buy just the front seal or do I havew to get the whole rebuild kit??

You can get just the seal kit for the input shaft, it comes with a seal, dust seal, and oring if I remember right.

Just make sure that before disassembly, that the mark the orientation of the endplug to the housing, so when you assemble it, you get the same preload!

Also, a tip that I learned the hard way, tape off the splines on the input shaft with one single layer of electrical tape, to avoid cutting the new seal.
