My scrambler has the tub rhino lined. I am doing som body modifications like turning the bed into a 2 picer and cutting out the rear wheel wells. I need to remove some small sections of rhino lining to cut and weld on the body. The question is how do i remove small sections without ruining the other sections? I really dont care if the rhino lining gets ruind I just dont want the hassle of having to strip it all off. The outside of the body was orriganlly done and it took me almost 2 months to get it all off. it was a major pain in the ass!!! If anybosy has any suggestions let em fly.
Thanks.

Getting the torch out just might be a good idea.

why not just take an angle grinder to it, I haven't found much that would hold up to a grinding wheel. That is what I do to take off the paint, primer, zinc coating, undercoating, hell just about anything in order to weld. If you don't have one and do much work at all I would suggest picking one up otherwise a wire wheel in a drill usually works pretty well. heat will work to but can be smelly and messy

I'd be careful using the angle grinder, that rhino lining stuff might clog the pores in the wheel... when that happens it heats up and could come apart, so wear your saftey glasses!!

They make a wire brush that fits the grinder and it kicks ass.

Ive tried the grinder it just melts the lining a little and makes a huge mess. The brush might be a good idea i will have to try it out tomorrow.

Maybe there is a solvent here!! :D

http://www.por-15.com/

Or try ggogle.com and search for POR-15. There are a few sites that sell it and there are solvents (I think).

Oh, I found it :smokin: at http://www.por15.com/stripper_solvent.html

My friend has a rhino lined tub, and his master cylinder started leaking on his CJ and got brake fluid on the rhino lining and ate it away. You could try some of that.

I tried the wire brush on my grinder and it has worked the best. A grinder blade is just to thin. The brush throws alot of crap around but works better than a torch.
