Funny you should mention that, because on the thread about this truck from about 2 MONTHS AGO there was a lot of talk about how it was eating u-joints alive. Don't get me wrong, I like the beef, and the truck, and everything about it. I'm just jealous that I don't have 50k to our into a truck. :)

RockyXJ 02-20-2002, 10:12 PM I think its sweet, feel free to give me cash sometime if you ever want to help somebody

Thats yours?
If so, you have some major cash tied up in it, but I would if I could, also.
1 question, how much does that hawg weigh???
aaronlosey 02-21-2002, 09:48 AM i am guessing it weighs in right around 6500, maybe 7000. and its only getting heavier, since a 502 is eventually gonna get dropped in. tied up isn't the word for what happened to the cash.
as for the thread a few months ago, yeah it was eating u-joints, steering rams too. the axles are pretty much prototype stuff, so they have some little problems that need to be addressed.
as for mine, nope, its garths. we mainly just sit on it at the shop at work and eat our lunch. we are way too busy making 4wheeling videos to actually get out. no, the irony of that did not escape me.
aaronlosey 02-21-2002, 09:50 AM oh, about the breaking stuff, i have some sweet pictures and video of it breaking that you would love to see, but i'm not alowed to show you. it was supposed to compete in a few competitions this year, but we have been too busy. maybe latter in 2002.

Not competing with that thing is like throwing money out the window. Talk about all the free publicity you missed out on... You need a driver to take that thing out??? (yes, I'm volunteering) :flipoff2:

Thats a wide biaatch:D
I think my favorite part on that is the cage. Mostly the rear part.
Is it getting a 502 H.O. crate, or something more modded? Either way it's just gonna be more kickass with BB power.
bulldozer 02-21-2002, 11:14 AM This was built-up by Avalanche Engineering in Colorado. More pics of it here:
Avalanche (http://www.avalancheengr.com/Features/friends_Page3.htm)
They make the best rocker protection out there.
Honkylips 02-21-2002, 11:17 AM They make the best rocker protection out there.
Steel is steel if ya ask me.
aaronlosey 02-21-2002, 11:52 AM unless you don't use steel :flipoff2:
yup, avalanche built, they are next door. as for drivers, i think we could find somebody willing to drive it.
aaronlosey 02-21-2002, 11:54 AM i didn't even notice until i clicked on that link above, but cliffs web monkey keeps stealing my pics and putting them on their webpage. thats ok though, they are good people.
bulldozer 02-21-2002, 11:56 AM There's something to be said about how that steel looks. IMO, they make it look real good.
Rocker Knockers (http://www.avalancheengr.com/RockerKnockers/rocker.htm)
herzog 02-21-2002, 01:54 PM That is one nice rig... It was in the Avalanche booth area outside of the arena during the Jeep safari last year along side of the Assassin. The Gossimer wasn't quite completed yet, but all we could do is stand there and druel over it.
I took about eight pictures of it sitting there. Very well built. I sure wouldn't worry about any breakage.
jp junkie 02-21-2002, 03:25 PM . I'm just jealous that I don't have 50k to our into a truck.
I think it takes a lot more than 50 grand to build a truck like that.
aaronlosey 02-21-2002, 03:52 PM yep
BRUISER-42 02-21-2002, 08:12 PM Hey guys, to date the big red machine has broken a totall of two rear steer joints. We did not beleive rear steer joints would survive with power plus 44" Boggers under a 6200lb rig . But Garth wants to keep it for the novilty, we did change our yoke design to help curtail failures. It would be unrealistic to expect it never to break. As for the comps, It is 94" outside the tires. To wide to be a serious competitor. Last, hey Aaron I'am the webmonkey that uses your images, thanks for them. Clifton
aaronlosey 02-21-2002, 08:42 PM its ok, you should start posting those illustrations too. thats what i do them for. plus, i am still waiting for those t-shirts to get done.
