The common backspacing for our vehicles used is 4" or 4.5" i believe.

what is the problem? Are the tires rubbing something.
And i think stock rims have more like 5" BS.

That BS will work but you will have to hack the shit out of the fenders. If not about 4.5" of BS is standard for the XJ with big tires. I'm runnnig 12.5 BFG with 3.25 BS and I hacked the hell out of the fenders but all is good now.

I widened the front flairs to fit the 33x12.5(13.5 wide) thornbirds. the tsl's are skinnier,but 1.5" taller.With less BS I would get less wheel arch.Two close in,and get major control arm rub.

I have 3.5" backspacing for my 35's and love the stance of it. I did add TJ flares too so it wont rub the flares.............peace

I'm running 3" bs, and love it, but on the other hand I don't have stock axles :flipoff2:
