4" is what I ran with 33x12.50s. Worked just fine. I was about 7" of lift. Now I have same lift and run 35s. Trimmed a bit but I can still stuff front and rear.

When I had 33's, I ran 3.75" with 6" of lift. Worked pretty nicely, good stability, more backspacing is better. Just be prepared to trim, trim, trim, if you want flex.

Dan,

I just sold my 15x8 4.25" wheels to Jes. They were Ultra's.

I liked em a lot, and they stuffed 33's just fine....

Dan, Rockcrawler will make wheels to your desired BS. It's about a $10 upcharge, but there standard is 4.25 IIRC. I paid about $48 a piece for mine from 4WPW but had to wait for almost 3 months :mad3: before they got my wheels in.

I ran 3.75 with 33"

4-4.25 would likely be good too - but at 4" I rubbed the inner fenderwells.

See my page for a chart with every 5x4.5 rim ever made and it's specs

3.5" to 4" of backspacing is ideal in my book... :D

Recluse, do you need any other parts than just 30 axles, I have my xj on the for sale page, If It dont sell, I'll part it out. if I do, I have the rear sold, but If you see anything listed you are interested in let me know, I may have to go that route:rolleyes: :( If I do that means a few weekends wrenchin and  that I could be wheelin or ridin and
