I've got a 79 K5, 350, 350, 203, and 33"s
Soon to be Dana 60 front and shaved 14 rear... I'm hoping to put either a 700r or t400 in place of the t350 (a little slipping and a few occasional clunks) and most likely a 205...
If I stick with 33"s, what would be my optimum axle gears? I'm hoping to acheive a balance between highways, mud, rocks, fallen trees, residential areas, sand, hills, and (mostly dried) river beds...

First why 1-ton axles for 33's???? Definatly overbuilding and Your going to be dragging the axles on everything offroad. If your swapping them in with the idea of handling bigger tires in the future this will throw off what gears you should put in.

That being said

3 speed auto and 33's... I would run something in the 3.50 area

4 speed auto and 33's... I would run 4.10's

Actually I would probably run whatever gears come in the axles and not bother regearing until I stepped up in tire size

I think I'm just going to feel it out and see what falls where...

i had 350 208 700r with 33s and 4.56 still wasnt low enough for me still have alot of top end on highway not enough low offroad
