I measured rim to rim when I set mine last week. 38.5 sx seem to work better with a little toe in front 1/8-1/4" on mine works best.

1/4 at rim is alot , should measure a 1/4 at the tire tread surface front to back , when measuring at rim you cut in 1/2 cause it is roughly 1/2 the distance to center so 1/8 front of rim to rear of rim would be perfect IMO.....

I think it is a little more accurate to spin the tire and scribe a pencil line around the front tires to use as a measurement because this helps to eliminate problems with rim run out and is more accurate because the specification is difference from the front and rear of the tire and not the rim.

I set my toe-in to about 1/8 at the tread.

Mine ran really smoothe until I chunked the tread all up in the rocks and on my body, then knocked all the remaining wheel weights off. Now the death wobble is getting me.

you got that right mike..........

actually, i gave it just a tad toe out and lost almost all the wobble. i'm gonna do the trunion bearings pretty soon , and then i'll turn it back in...........i need to re-pack the wheel bearings anyway, so i'll just do them too. they are original 77'
