I am going to go and look at a 94 FSB with 170K miles on it. The guy says it runs good, just that 4wd doesnt' work. From my understanding, the BW1356 is a pretty good T-case, so would it likely be the axle or hubs? Any quick ways I can tell? Thanks.

Assuming its an electric shift T-case, it could be the shift motor. Those are notorius for sticking. www.fullsizebronco.com has a pretty good write-up on how to clean/rebuild them.

Its the shift motor. Pull it apart, watch all the litte pieces fly around & then go find them, you'll need them later.. Clean it up, lube it, reinstall it.

i second that mine went out. what u can do is take the motor off put the trans in netrual and shift the case manualy under the truck and this will tell u if the case works.

Sounds like an easy fix. Ok, so how much should I offer him for the bronco? He is asking $3200 or best, which sounds kind of high for the mileage and 4wd not working. It is an XLT w 351. Thanks for the help.

Actually it sounds like a reasonable price to me. Offer him $3000, Ill bet he takes it.

$3200 sounds high to me too... I would offer him $2500; if it is in decent shape you might offer $2900 or $3000... BlueBook it - see what it's worth...
