Im wondering about disc conversion on my Eb. It seems that there is mostly chevy conversions, but what about jeep FSJ? Are there not very much the same stuff to find there? Ive been searching some around, and when i check partno, there seems to be the same parts? Any thoughts? Thank you all. Keep up the good work :)

if you go to your junk yard and get the disc brakes off a 78 or 79 f150 or bronco you can do this conversion for very little get the turn nuckle and all if you can.

I'm about to yank the ford knuckles off mine, and calipers and caliper brackets, to swap to a flattop setup. It's a 76 eb front 44 with discs. I'll be keeping the rotors.

The "Chevy" swap is the same as FSJ, Jeep used the same spindles and caliers on most of the years.

FSJ knuckles work just fine. Here's what I used on my EB:

*Waggy Knuckles (steering arm is higher that the Chevy or Ford) Drilled and tapered from the top.
*Chevy backing plate
*Chevy small bearing spindles
*Ford Rotor/Hub assy
*Chevy Calipers

All easy to source and it works great;)

do you mean that i cannot use the fsj backing plate, or are all the parts needed, the same as chevy? thanks

I wanted to run Chevy calipers (there cheap and available everywhere) so I used Chevy backing plates. I don't see why you couldn't use the FSJ backing plate with Waggy calipers.

make sure you clearance your EB drum knuckle for the caliper.

so say you have a waggy axle. could i technicly use these parts to convert to 5x5.5? i mean i already have the knuckles and technicly i could keep my brakes using the FSJ backing plate, so would ill a need is the spindle and rotor hub assy?

No I didn't. I just use the waggy knuckle;)

I have a full width HP D44 out of a 77 F150. Yes, you could use these parts to change to 5 on 5.5;)

One thing to remember, the lengths of the stub axles are a little different. The Chevy stub is a little longer than the Ford (not sure of the length of the Waggy stub). If you want to run the c-clip on the end of the axle, you'll need the Chevy with this set up. FWIW, I just run the Ford stub (Warn Alloy) and have never had a problem;)

Been there done that.... wondered why my brakes sucked so bad and I could seemingly bleed them forever.

LOL! Glad I'm not the only one to have done that. I bled the brake at least 5 times before I figured it out. I felt soooo stewpid

I always use Mr. N's D44 data site for this kind of stuff. You can find a lot of GOOD info here (http://77cj.littlekeylime.com/web_rs44.html)

That, and the fact that the adjusters had completely fallen outta my rear drums. Stupidest thing ever.... no E-brake cables to adjust the brakes down, so the first time i tried to bleed them i guess the adjusters just fell into the bottom of the drum. Several frustrating hours later.... rofl

least I can say that'll never happen again :)

Depending on the year waggy you have.
All you need to swap to 5 on 5.5 is a Rotor/hub

get a hub/rotor assembly from a 77-79 F-150/Bronco
