I want to do this as a build up. Buy a cheap ass, stock Bronco II and put the mother of all engine/drivetrains in it. The main thing I'm concerned with is fitting the big block in that little engine bay. I am going to use Rockcrawler_101's sweet homemade doubler setup. How much am I going to be looking at repositioning my axles? I am going to run 1 tons, and may use a coil/radius arm setup front and rear. If you guys can answer any of my questions I will appreciate it. I'm getting ready to start my first new build up in a while, and I got the wheels turning in my head right now.

Sounds like you will have to move your rear way back. to get more than a 12" driveline.

easy to do if you run rad arms or a 3/4 link in the rear.

Cut the heck out of the front fenders, remove the inners and put the skins of the outers back on. Then you have lots of room for the 460.

The front axle you may not have to move at all. But if you are going that far anyways, Then go for it.?

It's gonna be a long biotch..

the 435/13-56/205 setup in my truck is 50.5" long without the bellhousing.
In a 133" wheelbase truck I have 47.5" long driveshafts, at stock wb a broncoII would have almost none, so I think you would be stretching the WB a good 10-15"

I'd start with a bigger frame, perhaps a 70's 2wd f-series that had a 460 in it. Then you got something that might hold that weight and torque. Lop it off in front and back where it suits you and get to it. Post pics.

C- chanel frame won't take the torque. If your gonna spend the time boxing and streching it, build a buggy and use the skins form the BII.

Yeah I knew I would have to address the frame. I figured I would have to build a custom frame out of either round or boxed tubing.

The more I think about it, it would be a lot easier to throw that drivetrain into a CJ-7. :flipoff2:

nice thing about rangers and bronco ll is that they have a frame gauge same as a 150 and almost the same width and height. I personaly think it`l handle it just fine, and for the sceptics, toss an exo cage on it. Problem solved. You know what Id love to see. With all these trucks getting so modified that nothing original exists, Id like to see Full Hydrostatic drive, whay arent the buggys running this, skid steer, front and back going in different direction, no drive shafts, no tranny`s , t cases. I want one

X2 on the frame I did box mine and I still bent it at the front because I had to cut the crossmember for the 351 and it made it weaker, fixed the problem but it would have been better to just build a tube frame to start with

I ran 460/C6/1356/205 in my CJ7 for a couple years before I started my buggy project. No problem stuffing the stuff in a jeep, so I would say it could go into a BII. My wheelbase was 118 though and my rear shaft ended up being about 18"s. I think my double w/ the autio was shorter than yours though, what is up with that, did you get the long adapter trans?

Later,
Jason

I'm assuming mine was a long adapter..

the truck (89') orriginaly had a T-18/13-56 in it, My buddy had a NP435/205 setup laying around, and needed a T-18 for his jeep, so traded him my t-18 for the 435(both trannys and adapters were the same length), and tossed the 205 on the back for good messures..

Heres what I ended up with..
