: Ford 9" Pinion Offset

I'm trying to determine how far to the left of the housing centerline the pinion centerline is on a Ford 9". Everyone has the vertical offset and compares the standard and hi-pinion measurements, but could not find the horizontal offset. Finally, reading through the Currie catalog closely, I came across one small note that referred to the pinion offset as being .94" if the housing was centered rather than the pinion centered. The picture makes it look like more than an inch, though... Maybe not?

Can anyone verify?

Depends on the Year.
Mine out of Van is offset 2.25 inches

EB's have the motor shifted 3/4" to the passenger side, so they offset the pinion 3/4" also. Guess they were just lining everything up.

So it depends upon what I get the third out of? Can anyone point me to some sort of chart of the different applications?

Not the 3rd, the housing.
All you can do is measure them.
BTW to have equal length axles, the pinion needs to be offset more then 2 inches.

Ok, so the dimension from the centerline of the pinion to the centerline of the third member is the same on all third members. The third member may be offset from the center of the width of the axle depending on what the axle came out of.

Am I following correctly so far?

So I'm still trying to find out what the offset is from the centerline of the pinion to the centerline of the third member.
