Does anyone know the toe in specs for a 64 scout 80? Modified the tie rod and need to reset the alignment. Yes I forgot to measure it before tearing it apart.

Disclaimer: I don't think this info is in the IH tech section (or any other as far as I know) This was just a sample hazing ;)

Thanks, I've already been hazed but I guess it takes you experts awhile to notice us little peons. I might be the only person to read through all the post in this section as far back as I could get. :flipoff2: :flipoff2: I still don't understand much of it but I'm learning. This is my first run at a built 4x4 so I spend most of my times standing around scratching my head. Save the hazing till I ask a real dumbass question

Very faucking simple. and very much a BB question newbie! :flipoff2:
This is high school auto shop stuff and doesn't belong on POR!
For a toe reading you scribe a line in each tire. Use a scribe/chalk/sharpie and spin each of the front tires to get your straight line. You can then measure between the two scribed lines with a tape measure or with a toe bar , a smaller measurement at the backside of the tire again, indicates toe out. and equal measurement is 0 toe and a smaller measurement in front equals toe in! DOOOOOH!

Thank you for the measurement this was all that I needed. I already know how to set the toe in .
You are right about this being a basic procedure, but after calling the local tire shop and not getting a decent answer I figured that I could get it here.
BTW I haven't seen the inside of a high school shop in fifteen years.
