wondered if this happened to anyone else. when i slide the temperture level from cold to hot without turning the fan on the my temperture gauge shoots straight up. whats the fix? thanks in advance.

need a little more info, like what kind of vehicle.. is it just the guage or is the motor actually getting hot? :)

sounds like an electrical short to ground to me.
