Hey fawkers,

Done the 44/9 inch to the max. Want to go sick big. Want D60's front and rear...reverse Front. I want to go full width. Running Np435 and swithing to KluneV planatary w/205 t-case. Are there other donor vehicles for a front d60r other than the F350 dualie? Assume four link set up with coil overs all around. Gonna be sick pup.

I have a dana 60 FF 66" WMS-WMS for sale, 100% complete, perches and shock mounts have been cut off and ground smooth.
It needs work, as it is a 1979 F350 rear axle.
I bought it about 2 months ago, planning on building it up, i concluded it was just too odd ball, compared to my dana 44 6 lug front...

1979 F350 DANA 60 FF, 3.54 GEARS, 100% COMPLETE, NEEDS WORK

I have someone comming to look and maybe buy it on saturday, if he falls through its yours for 200 OBO

Check your local tow yards. You can get a f350 there for like 100 bucks. The bone yards do it, and make bank off the parts.
I have spotted alot of good rigs there that have auctioned off for like 250.
That would be your best bet on saving some cash.

A good southern boy should listen to his mother. If you don't have something good to say, don't say nothin'.

I would say $250 for a d60 is a good value. If you don't think so, then they are using a different type of money in Georgia... What country is that anyway?

A good newbie shouldn't mouth off. I said FRONT d60. The prices being listed here are all for REAR d60's. If you find a FRONT d60 for less than $600, tell me and I will let you know if you got a good deal. As for REAR d60's, $250 is shitty if it needs any building at all. As I have proved once before in another post, I can get d60 rears ALL DAY LONG for $87. That's what I got my 14-bolt rear for, and that is what I could have got a d60 REAR for also. (Had I chosen to gi with a weaker axle. ;) ) There's about a million of them down here in the south. So maybe you should come and get one so you can be totally sick and maxed out . The type of money we use here in southern country is called "the kind we don't like to throw away." But then again, maybe I just don't get it because I'm not a G . :flipoff2:

Maybe you should read more carefully. Apparently you can find F350's in towing company drop off station that is never claimed make an offer and walk away with just that...a d60R front axles for $250. Sounds like a deal to me and damn good info. Do I believe it is that easy...No, but it sure the hell is worth checking because I don't have $$$ to toss either.

I still would like to know if there are any other rigs that came with a D60R front beside the F350 duallie. And...if so...are they of any use to a EB owner.

PS checked the cover of Petersen's in September? You might see a green bronco there...Funny I have a green bronco...Hmmm Top that!

If you get a d60 front for $250 that is a good value. It's not going to happen though. If it happened, don't you think that people here would have done it? I've never heard of it happening, that's all I'm saying. The only people I've ever heard of ever getting a d60 front for that cheap are lucky bastards who found a farmer with a truck in his back yard that had been sitting for years and didn't know what he had.

I don't know of any other rigs that had a d60R.

I can beat being on any cover any day . . . I'm not a :rainbow: thug newbie. :flipoff2:

Good luck finding one anywhere near local to Folsom.... I spent about 2-3 weeks looking and prices were sky high.... I got responses like "nope, just sold one yesterday for $1600"... so if you do run across something let me know! :smokin:

For real! I paid $900 for mine, which I thought was a good deal. And that was down here in the south. Out there in Cali where everyone and their brother knows what a d60 front is it's going to be even harder.

Back on topic.....

Yes there are two other F-series to look for. F-250 with SnowFighter option came with a D-60 HP front with SINGLE rear wheels and the F-350 with SINGLE rear wheels came with the D-60. In fact all F-350's had a D-60 regardless of what rear axle it had. The above info is for '78-'79 only.
In 1986 Ford came back with the D-60 in only the F-350 and F-Surperduty(F-450-Dually), they were however Balljoint style and the spring perches are located farther apart.

Right, except that the kingpins lasted until the mid-90's. I'd steer clear of the duallies just because of the hubs.

I would not worry about the DRW hubs, Fords are very easy and cheap to convert to single wheel setups, D50 TTB use the same hub. Also you can get the hub/rotor new for less then $175.

the only probelem ones are the current body style, which only have 60's in the duallys, and they run a unitized hub/bearing, and a gay assed metric lug pattern.
The older duallys are pretty easy to convert.

can the new ones be converted ?

if so what is the procedure ?

and what is the estimated cost involved ?

Thanks for the info and getting us back on TOPIC Did the Ford 1 ton's pre 78 come with D60R front? When you say, In fact all F-350's had a D-60..." Is that only 78-79. Or better yet, if you were looking for a D-60 R to put under a Bronco (Full width) which year/style would you look for.

As for ball joint VS King pin...you want the Ball Joint style, right. Yes the mounts might be wider, but they can be moved right...or is the pumkin in the way then?

Some 77 250 and 350s will also have a HP60 in them. Which ones no one knows till you look. You can get a Low pinion 60 with disc brakes in 75-77. However unless you get it real cheap just leave it there.
