I'm looking for an engine to put in my 1980 F150. The one in there right now is a L6 and is getting tired. I would like to either replace in with another or go larger the V8 direction. If any one has a motor laying around or a whole crashed that I could get one out of let me know.

Thanks

I have a 351 from a '79 f-250 that needs rebuilding. it has all the brackets and i still have the radiator. the engine mounts are still there and the clutch, which is still good. I also have the c-6 that backed it, but the input shaft is broken off, long story. i am willing to pack it up and ship it if you pay. I am really trying to free up some space so if you want it tell me. :usa:

I forget the bellhousing pattern of the 300 ci 6 cyl so keep that in mind also.

Do you plan to keep it smog legal?

you'll need an engine from the same GVW class as the 150, or at least one that was offered in that class.

IMO, a 351M wouldn't be worth the effort to swap in. I'd look for an EFI 351w from an 88 or later, but I don't know how the smog crap works putting a newer engine in an older rig.

a 302 EFI from 87 and later is also good, but for the effort why not get a few more cubes?

You'd need all the electronics and the computer and maybe some of the exhaust (i think there's an oxy sensor the computer needs)

Look for wrecked 88 and later broncos or F150s for the 5.8 (351w) or 87 and later for the 5.0 (302).

Too bad you didnt post this a few months ago, i had a 302 out of a 89 F150, and you could of had any parts you needed off the truck. I could barely give the thing away, finally someone gave me 150 for the whole thing
