Are tennis balls any differant?
How does that work aired down?
Anyone tried beads, Group 31, or powder? I would guess powder would not stay in airing down.

I told you guys it worked! Six in a 38 SX seems to do the trick. I need to get 6 more a do one of my tires that I didnt' do. It's got a spastic wobble on the pass rear that comes and goes.
Toyfamily, you ought to type in the word "golf" before balls so this pops up when guys search for golf balls in the future. Picture is worth a thousand words.

Yea BnT is probably the most fun shop anyone will ever hang out at. We always have something way beyond random going on there.

I also drink a lot and get a bit ballzy :D

The golf balls work well. I never hear them.

I just got pulled over for seeing what MPH they are good to. I happened to be in a 35 mph zone. I hit 70 and they lost balance. So I see the cop pull out but no lights on so I ripped into the gas station and hopped out and started putting gas in before he rolled up on me. He then couldn't mess w/ me. He still gave me a helluva time about my lack of flaps, cracked windshield, exhaust, mirrors, front plate, lack of registration. I still don't know why they can;t do anything if you are out of the vehicle before they put their lights on. So far it has saved my ass every time. Also if you can stack up enough violations they aren't all that inclined to waste all their ink on simple fix its. :D

But not in a gas station parking lot...you ever seen them give a ticket(for whatever reason) in a parking lot without the owner asking them to do so...its private property and they cant ticket you on it unless the owner has asked them to do so...however I have heard of them waiting outside the parking lot for the violator to pull out:D:D:D

haha...if he waited for me outside of the parking lot I would have called a friend w/ a trailer and really fawker w/ that cop's day. :D The county sheriffs don't ever seem to care about vehicle violations.....here's the other thing...if he was a chico PD or CHP I woul dhave been in a world of hurt but if you stack up the violations most cops will opt for the donut rather than the tickets :D

Yeah, more info. Clanking noises on the street or trail? How fast can you go and have them in balance?

How many balls/tire?

I dont know anything bout the golf balls, but I tried balence in a set of thornchickns (:flipoff2: ) and it made it worse if anything. Maybe a little better at highway speeds (A LITTLE!!! MAYBE..) but at low speeds sometimes I wanted to get out and just slash my tires to get that shit outta there!

BALENCE = :rainbow:

damn dave...I've never seen you post here before....how's the blaz motor coming along?

Oh yea

They bounced after 65

once again.... I can't hear the golf balls.

The tires sucked so bad before...but it has a lot to do w/ the double thick eaton wheels being out of round.

Once again.... 6 balls/ tire

Tennis balls are too light retard :D

Bouncy balls won't slide on the rubber inside the tire properly to do a rapid balance so some bounce on speed change would occur.

If you don't suck you'll just sack up and try the ball balancing...if it works for you well then sweet...I wouldn't bother w/ 36's damn things are pretty round and a few weights should do it.

Good luck to all.

I am pretty much of a lurker here - I come here when I need to LMAO!

Still haven't decided on the motor:
- whipple 350
- mild 383
- LS1 in aluminum
- TPI 383 (this would be a smog violation)

I still need good MPG cuz I am always hauling the motorcycles someplace. The TPI is the best solution but we will see.....

But the motor is 3rd or 4th on the list to be done by August (CK5 is having a huge get together in Moab around August 24/25).

Projects:
- bumpers front and rear from Monte (SP?) at All Steel (have the winch)
- Cage from Mike
- Trailer from All Steel http://coloradok5.com/gallery/Daves-Pics?&page=2
- Engine if I have any $$$ left or if the friggin economy will turn

Chico is the place - all my work (including paint someday) can be done in 1 square mile!

Sillyneck
02-24-2002, 11:37 PM
yea chico is damn cool for getting stuff done close. I can do all my supply errands in a few mins versus when I lived in roseville and it took me 45 mins just to get to the metal shop...in chico it is 500 feet away :D good stuff...see ya around.

You must be coming by sometime around or between 12 and 1, other than that, we or somebody is there from a little after 8 to 5. I saw you on the freeway today, I hope you have a second set of trail tires for that thing, looked a little tipsy with the wheels and tires sucked in like that. I was rollin' deep in the trailblazer, so you didn't happen to miss my truck, if that's possible.

I call BULLSHIT...........

private property or not. you can be ticketed. I've seen poeple
get tickets in their own DRIVEWAY.. this of course was after
the cop finally caught up to them, and then wrote them up.

traffic laws are enforceable on most areas. including private
property, such as:

gas stations, parking lots, IE: like at the grocery store, or the
mall, etc.

you better recheck your thought process if you think getting
onto private property is like a "free-spot/you can't touch me"
kinda thing.......

Dunno if this is right/wrong, but, it sure don't hurt to pull over. Back in highschool, I had a beater '72 Firechicken w/glasspacks, and was always getting pulled over for BS stuff. I quickly learned to pull into the nearest gas station/stop and rob to go buy a soda as soon as the cops pulled in behing me. Figure that way they at least won't be able to follow you around untill they have something to pull you over for. Once I bought the Blazer I quit getting pulled over, even though I drove it faster.

man, i used to believe that you cant get pulled over at a private place, but after about the 20th time i was issued a ticket while being pulled over at a gas station or pizza place i began to have my doubts. when i asked a cop about it, he laughed and said "in your dreams son" now i have a different game plan with the cops, when the red lights start to flash, i just keep on driving until i come to a place with lots of people around. sometimes it is miles until i find a place that i feel is suitable for my recieving the ticket or lecture. anyways, the cop asks why i didnt pull over immeadietly and i try to keep a straight face while i tell him that i was once beaten badly by a few police officers in a unpopulated area and so now i make sure i am around a lot of people while i get pulled over. a few times, the story itself got me out of the ticket. if you do get a ticket, you have lots of witnesses around to testify in court in your favor when you mitigate the ticket.

anyway, sorry to ramble but this is a proven method, more people ought o try it.

I got a ticket in a gas station parking lot one time. I asked the cop if I could at least fill up while receiving the ticket and he wouldn't let me....

Plus he pulled me over for inspection and registration, damn cop....

All these posts and nobody made the comment about the hi-lift handle?

Safety-first boys.

Oh yeah, about the gettin' pulled over thing. I once saw the cop a block from home and knew I was busted. I ran home as fast as the car would take me, ran into the house, grabbed a beer and was sitting on the porch when he walked up... No, I did not get yet another reckless driving ticket! BTW-they call it hot pursuit, as long as they maintain visual contact with you from the time they observe the violation, you can't get away from them, even running into a house.

I can tell you this. The private property safe guard is BULLSHIT.

You committed the crime or the incident (since speeding is not a "Crime" ) on the street you can be ticketed for it. The only time that private property is safe for you is when you started the act of driving like a jackass on private property.

Officers can still stop you on the private property for what your doing and get you to quit it. Also, if you are doing the act on private property and it can be construed as reckless driving, then you can be charged for that offense.

When I was still a COP, I would always write people if they tried to dodge me by pulling into a driveway or private property. If they just stopped on the street, I hardly ever wrote a ticket. In my 8.5 years on the street, I maybe wrote 80 tickets. Thats less than 10 tickets a year.

One of the salesmen who calls on me had his kid get arrested for wheeling at night on private property, with permission and with the son of the landowner. They were called by an adjoining landowner. The LEOs showed up armed for bear. Charged all involved with reckless driving, seat belt violations, minors in possession of alcohol and OWI!

All of this was on private land with the permission of the land owner. When the owner went to court with his son and complained, he was threatened with contempt. All of these kids now have OWIs on their driving records.

Peace,
Paul

Well i dont think a CHP can give a ticket on private propety because my mom was kinda getin chased by one (lights off) because she forgot about her expired tags and she turned onto a private road and he kept going and didn't chase her, also I live in an area where almost all the roads are private and kids drive cars around with out licences even one that had no body on it they aslo ride dirt bikes all over with out hastle from the cops if they stay on the private roads :D
