Is there an easy way to tell how many spline count on the axles? without taking it apart?
stock 72 9in rear end?

If not I guess I'll have to break down and take the thing apart.

If this is a bronco rearend than stock is 28spline. The 77' 9in. jumped to 31spline.

On the back side of your brake drum backing plate is a bendix number that
will ID your rear end.10" drum with small bearing is 55264, 10" drum with
large bearing is 80174, 11" drum with large bearing is 319130.
