: SS hose ?

I know there's a difference between regular rubber fuel hose and fuel injection hose but............
Is there a difference for SS hose? I have some Earls #6 and was wondering if I could use this to plumb from the tank to the hard line? I noticed in the Summit catalog, it states a pretty high psi rating. Would this hose be safe to use? Or do they make SS fuel injection hose?

FYI, using it on my 85 Runner. Relocating the tank to between the rear frame rails.

The pump only puts out about 30-35psi, I think. What's the hose rated for?

Ready for the weekend? :vader2:

Earls ss hose is usually rated for 150psi and 300degress F - so yes, just use the correct fittings and you cn use it for efi fuel setups too :)

Actually, fuel pressure can reach 100psi when the pump is dead headed. most steel braid hose and a/n fittings are rated at 200 psi. I noticed when I did my EFI swap that the hard line is standard 5/16" steel line. I would use a flare union and a chunk of pre-flared 5/16" line from any auto parts store to extend the line to the back of the truck. Then just screw the stock hose back on.

Hard steel lines with a double flare or braided SS will both work fine. There is no comparison between all rubber and SS braided with AN fittings....

SS braided is heavier than rubber. :flipoff2:

Oh, one more thing. AN flare is different than the standard 45 degree stuff. It uses 37 degree flares.
