i want to find out what this rear d70 i have came off of. is there a web site i can check the vin#. it has 2638 on the lower left of the diff cover, and 40235 on upper right. is that the vin or did i miss it some where else.

You need to look for the BOM number. For instance, mine is 605247-1. You can find it on the right side axle tube usually just a few inches from the center pumpkin. It's on the Diff tag also, if you still have it.
