Would I be able to use the stock transfer case behind a 727 on my '62 80?
Or would I even want to?
If not, what else would you guys suggest?
If I could use the stock one, what would I need or
have to do to make it work?
Thanks!

Huh? Which stock case, the one behind the 727, or the one in 62? No on the the 62, the 727's used a 27 spline shaft. The 62 case would need a six spline input.

BTW
DAN welcome :flipoff2:

Sorry about that, I didn't write it very well did I...

The transfer is from the Scout, bolted up to a T90-A.
It's a Spicer, and has the numbers 3-20 on it.
Would this work behind a 727, or if it does, would I
even want to use it?

Thanks, I'm just here to learn. :D

Chief,
Yeah, it's a 6 spline..
So what would I need behind a 727?

Scou t II D20 with the 23 (?) spline bull gear.

Any Scout II D20 would work, you will just need the proper bull-gear. They are redily availiable. I don't think there was ever a D18 availible with a 23 spline gear....

the D18 is easy to spot. The front and rear output shafts come out of the "droped" down portion of the case. The D20 has the rear output in line with the tranny.

Then I must have the D18.. The front and rear outpust are
in line, and down to the right.
What would a D20 and the bull gear cost?
Thanks!

Around a hundy. The D20 are plentiful. Just make sure you get the bull and case as a matched set.

$50 - $100

if you can find one in your area good, if not, shipping may jack it.... but they are "light", maybe 70/100 lbs, so it wouldn't be *too* bad.....
