im looking to buy this truck and the guy emailed me back saying"IT HAS AIR BAGS FOR LIFTING IT WITH REMOTES IT NEEDS BRAKES FOR THE POWER STEERING TO WORK" any idea what he's talking about. also how are air bags for lift kits, what are the plus's and minus's. ive always had suspension lifts.
thanks

Well the airbags and remotes are probably a weight leveling system for carrying the tongue weight of a trailer better and he has in cab controls for them. It probably needs the brakes replaced. And there is probably something wrong with the power steering. That;s my best guess anyway. I have no idea what the brakes have to do with the power steering unless he's swapped some sort of hydroboost deal on. As for airbag lifts, I think it's only good for show trucks. While a variable lift is an interesting concept, you'll be changing the alignment and driveshaft phasing everytime you lift or lower it. Seems to me it would make parts wear out pretty bad. I have seen a few trail setups, and having air at all four corners to force a wheel to the ground for traction is interesting also, but with constantly changing terrain, you would either be a very busy guy at the controls, or you'd be going at the speed of the little robot crawlers we sent to Mars. Just my .02

Ahhh, that would explain it. Haven't had much chance to tinker with one of the CTD Dodges yet...
