I found this is Lyons, Colorado this afternoon. It's not even well done. Look close and you can almost smell the bondo. :barf:

Brent Orton's awesome XJ just got even better looking to me! :smokin:

That XJ needs some big meats! The thing is so low the front LCA's are pointing upward:mad3:

There should be laws against lowering trucks and SUVs

I'm not sure you saw this one getting built. If you did, you weren't looking too close. It seemed pretty badly done. Riveted together in some places, screwed in others. Look at that metal covering the "bed" rails: it's not even bent to fit the contours! The bed is lined with indoor-outdoor carpet, or maybe speaker carpet. There's a donut spare in there.

And...no bondo? I'm wondering how he got the fiberglass rear hatch to stick to the passenger compartment. I wish I could've seen inside...

I didn't get more pics, because the owner came out of her house and wasn't too thrilled with someone snooping around. I choked out a compliment on the thing, and tried to find out who made it, to no avail.

I say :nuke: that thing and start again and do it right.

No shiznit! I saw this XJ driving around in Boulder the other day! Kinda hacked, but it looked, um, watertight? The big drawback is that the rear window appeared to be sheet metal screwed on.

Must not be the same one... and yes.. this one Ionly took a quick glance. Infact now that u point out the hatch thing i know its not cause the one I watached, cause he welded on the back of a comanchee truck cab for the back of the modified XJ cab.
