well, i spent the weekend removing the Tera 4" lift from my '97 TJ and put it on my '98 TJ and I'm having problems with the steering. After finishing the lift, I took a drive around the block and the first thing i noticed was that my steering wheel was off by 180 degrees to the right. I pulled over and turned it all the way left and then stuck my head out the window and watched my front tire as I turned the steering wheel right and when my tires pointed straight, so did my steering wheel.

So I drive a bit more and when I would make a right turn and then straighten out, my steering wheel was back to being 180 degrees off to the right. I put the TJ back on jack stands today to check it out, also to add some washers to the steering stops and noticed that the point where the drag link meets the tie rod was bumping into the bottom of my JKS quicker disconnects.

Anyone got any ideas on what I need to do to correct this? TIA

as for the 180 degree off steering wheel -you can adjust this with the threaded clamp lock collar on the draglink, the collar has 2 bolts that clamp it in place...loosen those bolts and crank on the collar and it will turn your wheel

as for the draglink hitting the discos - hmmm did you install the drop pitman arms? The steering stops should not affect it hitting the disco's but should fix it from rubbing control arms...

Thanks for the response Benzz0!

I read some post about possibly my drag link being bent or straightened (whichever way you want to look at it) causing it to hit the disconnects so I put in my spare drag link (brand new) and still had the same problem. Looks like i'll be installing the pitman arm to lower the drag link and hopefully it clears the passenger side swaybar link.

Anyone got any other suggestions?
