I've got a 65 ford 1/2 ton on 71 3/4 ton axles. it needs suspension so bad. nobody makes a kit for the truck, so i have come to the conclusion that i need a plan. the springs don't have shackles they have "rollers", their hard to describe. but i will venture to say that they suck. I need help, what have you done? and what would you do, especially if you had it to do over. thanks

Rollers? Is that the deal where there is no shackle just a slide deal with some bearings? If so that can be made to work fairly well. Lot of hybrids run that set up in tellico. Only down side is it doesn't alow the spring to compress the bushings and twist sideways so it hurts flex.
Making spring mounts is not hard nor is it rocket science. I would find some nice long stock springs for the rear like out of a mid to late 80's F150 (57 inches I believe). for the rear. Do a shackle flip set up and you will get some monster flex for the rear. www.offroaddesign will have some pictures of the flips so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.
On the front get some EZ rides for a 73-87 Chevy. About the softest rate springs for a off the shelf. simular weight vehicle so should be about right . Fab up some mounts and your set. will be nice and flexy and ride like a caddie (well you being a ford guy...Lincoln) on the street.
Ohhh yeah

Wlcome NEWBIE!

I used 88-up chev rear leafs under the front and rear of my 82 chev, nice flex to em, used the stock chev shackles (had the wrecker cut the brackets off the frame to ease fabrication) the only downside is the front where a 63 inch spring sticks out a bit but it made a convinient place to mount the winch when I was done
