thanks-wasn't sure if it was chevy one-size-fits-all style or not....guess that means i need a transmission too.pulling the 318 from a ramcharger and swapping in a 440.

I take it since you are saying you need a whole transmission that you have a 727 automatic? You will have to get a big block 727 from a car and swap the tailshaft and transfer case adaptor off the small block trans. Search around this was covered in detail a week or two ago.

ya,thats what i was figuring.done it lots with c-6s,should be about the same for the 727.found and engine with the 2wd tranny on it. i also want to put a 205 on it,will that bolt up in place of the 208 it has?

sorry bout the newbieish questions, learning dodge when i've only spoken ford is like learning a new language.

I have a freshly rebuilt 4x4 big block 727 in northwestern Montana for $250. It could come with the 203 attached if you wanted to pick it up, that way you could double your 205 to it. I'd meet somewhere even. For $150, I have a used one with transfer case, just really greasy. I have a house in northern Washington too, maybe I'd drive it over there and visit the place for a little extra one weekend.

appreciate the offer, but that's just too much travelling for me.i can swap the tailshafts in a couple of hours and still be in the shop to answer the phone.
